Artist Statement
My senior exhibition portrays the study of motion through sequences of stop motion pictures to evaluate each individual movement carefully. While I also created motion trails to allow the viewer to observe the direction of the flow of motion created through the exerted force in that direction. In most of the pictures you visualize the effect of the force of gravity and forward exerted force, for example: the flip, spider kid, athleticism, jumping side kick, wall walk, and finally hardcore parkour. The artist that influenced my portfolio pictures is Eadweard Muybridge a Photographer that works on the study of motion creating pictures that show the movement of an activity or technique. The fact that it is possible to take many pictures and use it to create a movie like presentation for people to view was a big inspiration for me. In most of my pictures I used outside light in order to get a more realistic and energetic feeling. I also used motion blur to enhance the feeling of movement through a path. I am choosing to present my pictures using wire frame to create a wave of pictures in order to enhance the way my photos are viewed.
